Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate with Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat, a track she performed together with Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. Then on the 9th of November 2018, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured along with Cole on The Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019, the video music for this song was released. The song has received more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December of 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
